Drone Attack Near Train Carrying Western Figures Was Intimidation Attempt, Says Top EU Diplomat

The European Union's chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas, stated that Russia attempted to intimidate Western allies of Ukraine following a drone attack near a train bound for Warsaw. Prominent Western security officials were traveling on a nearby rail service at the time of the strike. According to Kallas, the incident was a calculated attempt by Moscow to frighten international officials and signal the risks associated with continued support for Kyiv.

The incident highlights the growing physical risks along key transit routes connecting Ukraine to European Union territory. Over-land transport through Poland forms the primary lifeline for diplomatic visits, humanitarian assistance, and security assistance entering Ukraine.
